Case Study Hen Quarter

Property Details

Jordan Restaurant Group was working with a new brand created by Thompson Hospitality. At the time of the assignment, they had three corporate operations in the DC/Virginia/Maryland area. They viewed Columbus, Ohio as their first test market to grow outside of the DC area with eventual plans to enter the top 50 markets throughout the country.

The challenge was the area they were looking in had very limited opportunities and the top choice was a new mixed-use development with large restaurant users already under lease, and with multiple restrictions in place. To complicate the situation, Elford Realty’s client was a new franchise operator of this brand and had never operated a full-service restaurant, only quick serve restaurants.

Elford Realty was able to work with the developer/owner to convince them that the client had an operations team in place with the experience and expertise to operate and grow this brand not only in Central Ohio, but beyond. Elford Realty coordinated meetings in DC with executives from Thompson Hospitality who shared their background and experience growing brands. In the end, the client was able to secure a very attractive opportunity in the most visible location within the center of the development.
